About the Chapman Family Lineage

This website is dedicated to preserving the heritage and documenting the journey of the Chapman family descended from Lancelot Chapman, born in 1660 at Hawnby Hall, Yorkshire, England.

In 1774, Lancelot’s sons Thomas and William Chapman set sail with their families— a total of 20 individuals—aboard the Albion, arriving at Fort Lawrence, Nova Scotia. They established their new lives near what is now Amherst Shore, where the historic Chapman House still stands as a reminder of their legacy.

This site contains genealogical information, historical accounts, and family photo albums that trace the Chapman family line all the way down to Richard Chapman (b. 1961, Amherst, Nova Scotia).

Please note: This site represents only the lineage of this particular Chapman family and does not claim representation for all Chapmans globally.
